Colby Farm in Newbury, Massachusetts, plants a field of sunflowers each year. They open it up the public to enjoy. Many, many photographs are taken there and on any given day an engagement or wedding shoot may be going on. Each year at least one question is ‘popped’ onto a seemingly un-expecting girlfriend in front of these large yellow daisy-like flowers. I was inspired to draw this particular blossom because of the large bee that was so absorbed in his work that the passing by of humans made absolutely no impression on him.
